The railway workers deeply shaped the history of Pires do Rio. They were the ones who brought life to the station and the Galpão Oficina, supporting the movement of the tracks and helping to form the city’s identity.
With the shut down of some railway activities in the city, many of them were transferred, especially to Araguari (MG), but they left behind in Pires do Rio a legacy of work, memory, and identity. The Railway Museum exists largely thanks to these workers, who donated items, photographs, and personal belongings, preserving the memory of the railway.
This gallery is a tribute to these men who kept the railway alive and who remain present today in the history and heart of Pires do Rio.
